Planning is underway for the NARS Annual Banquet for 2025. Our annual banquet is on the calendar for the third Friday in January 2026. We have begun looking for a venue for this traditional event. Past events have been held at Valley Ranch, Spring Creek Barbecue, and the Back Porch.
We are soliciting suggestions from the membership at large. If you have a favorite restaurant, let one of the officers know. The logistical requirements are for a venue with a meeting room large enough to accommodate 40 to 60 people and lcated in the NW Houston/Spring/Tomball/Klein area. As we have done for the past serveral years, ordering will be from the usual venue menu instead of a fixed menu and Dutch Treat - each member or family pays for their own dinner.
It is critical that we make a selection as soon as possible in order to secure the venue because we hava aspecific date requirement, January 16, 2025. If you can suggest more than one venue, please indicate first, second, and third choice.

Galleria Repeater Site - status update

Our repeater team was advised recently that a new company is managing the Galleria building and is changing the agreement regarding hosting our repeater equipment. We were previously working under a handshake agreement with the building engineer, but that agreement has gone away because the building has been sold and the new owners no longer want to honor the previous arrangement.
The repeaters that were functional on this site have been shut down and the equipment was removed on Saturday, June 21. This equipment has been transported to the NARS storage facility until we can return it to service. The repeater team is working on this now. Check back here and on groups.io for updates.

The NARS monthly meetings are held on the third Friday of each month at 7:30 P.M. at the Harris County Emergency Services Building located at HCESD 16 Admin Building, 18606 Stuebner Airline 77379.
Please park only in front of the building. Ample parking is available. Enter the building ONLY through the main front entrance. As always, please do not take reserved parking spaces or block driveways.
For members who wish to join us for dinner before the meeting, we meet at a local restaurant for dinner at 4:30, enjoy dinner and maybe a drink, then make the short 10 minute drive to the meeting on Stuebner Airline. The restaurant is usually Gringo's Mexican Kitchen, 6925 Cypresswood Dr Ste G, Spring, TX 77379, but check the W5NC groups.io messages for updates.
