ARRL Field Day
Use of the W5NC callsign for ARRL Field Day shall follow these guidelines:
- The W5NC callsign will be used at the club-designated Field Day location.
- The Field Day Coordinator will serve as the Control Operator for the duration of the event and should hold an Amateur Extra Class license.
- If the Field Day Coordinator does not hold an Extra Class license, the club will appoint a Co-Coordinator who does. The Co-Coordinator may leave the site but must designate and announce the person responsible for site operations during any absence.
- If the designated Control Operator holds a General Class license, all operations must remain within General Class band privileges, even when Extra Class operators are present.
- An Extra Class operator may assume Control Operator responsibility at any time. Such changes must be documented on the event sign-in sheet, including the time period during which that operator served as Control Operator.
Purpose
These guidelines help ensure compliance with FCC regulations, proper oversight of club operations, and consistent management of the W5NC callsign during club-sponsored activities.
